Water for Life

water works presenting sponsors

Where on Earth is the water?  Learn about the sources of water on our Blue Planet.  How much is available for human consumption, and how much is locked up in the oceans, in glaciers and in the biomass?  Visitors will explore current issues in freshwater quality and management learning about what determines water quality, how it is measured, and what stresses are being put on this natural resource.

The Household Water Cycle
How does the water you use everyday make its way from the source to your tap? Use a large interactive model that will take you through a municipal water system – from a surface water source through water purification, to the house, and through the sewage treatment process.  A short video complements this interactive.

Your Water Footprint
How much water do you use every day?  Can you conserve more?  This exhibit will help you calculate your personal daily water use and discover conservation strategies that will work for you!  Use a computer program to tally your water inventory.
